Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering, shipping, and keeping a rare aroid alive once it arrives.
Plants ship from our partner nursery in the United States, Monday to Wednesday, within 1–3 business days of your order. Transit is typically 2–5 business days after that.
We do not ship plants late in the week — a parcel sent on a Thursday or Friday can sit in a depot all weekend, and that is where most transit damage happens. Orders placed from Thursday to Sunday ship the following Monday to Wednesday.
If your order has not arrived within the expected window, email contact@jermaineliving.com with your order number.
Yes. Every listing is one individual plant, photographed by our partner nursery. When you buy it, that listing comes down — nobody else can buy the same plant.
This is why you will sometimes see three listings with the same name at different prices. They are three different plants, with different variegation, size and leaf count.
Shipping is free on every order to the contiguous United States, with no minimum spend. The price on the product page is the price you pay.
We ship to the contiguous United States — the 48 mainland states and Washington, D.C. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US territories or APO/FPO/DPO addresses, because transit to those destinations is too long for a live plant and several have their own plant-import controls.
We do not ship internationally. Sending live plants across a border requires phytosanitary certificates and an import permit for the destination country.
Usually, yes. A bent or torn leaf, some yellowing on the oldest leaf, or a bruised aerial root are all normal after a few days in a dark box. The plant grows past it and the next leaf comes in clean.
What is not normal is a snapped growing point, mushy stem or roots, or a plant that has clearly frozen or overheated. Photograph it in its packaging and email us within 48 hours of delivery — we will send a replacement or refund you in full.
Unbox it straight away, even if you are busy. Take the wrapping off the root ball, sit the plant somewhere with bright indirect light, and water it lightly if the medium is dry.
Then leave it alone for two weeks. Do not repot it, do not fertilise it, and do not move it around looking for the perfect spot. Almost every plant that struggles after delivery struggles because it was repotted on day one.
You can return any plant within 30 days of delivery, for any reason. Returns are free — we email you a prepaid label — and there is no restocking fee.
If a plant arrives damaged, dead or is the wrong plant, email us with photos within 48 hours of delivery and we will replace it or refund you in full without asking you to ship it back. Full details are on our Return & Refund Policy page.
Mostly, but it is worth understanding what you are buying. Variegation is unstable by nature: a plant can throw a more variegated leaf, a less variegated one, or occasionally revert to plain green on a growth point.
Good light helps. Reversion is a normal behaviour of these plants rather than a fault, so it is not something the guarantee covers — but if it happens early we are always happy to talk you through cutting back to a variegated node.
Your shipping confirmation email contains a tracking link. Allow around 24 hours after shipping for the carrier's first scan to appear.
If tracking has not updated for two working days, email us — we would rather chase it early than wait.
Contact us immediately. If the order has not shipped we can correct the address at no cost.
Once it has shipped we cannot redirect it, and a plant that has spent a full return journey in a box rarely survives it. Please check your address carefully at checkout.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Checkout is encrypted and your card details are never stored on this site.
Yes, and we would rather you asked than lost a plant. Email contact@jermaineliving.com with a photo and a note on where the plant is sitting and how you have been watering it.
We answer Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET.
